April 22nd and April 28th, 2007
We are again thinking Spring, even if the weather isn't. Our Spring
OPEN HOUSE is from 10am till 4pm on April 22nd and 28th. This is
the first year we are holding the OPEN HOUSE under the Flint Hill Farm
Educational Center, Inc., a non profit Educational component of the farm!
It has been a dream, finally coming to reality over the past two years.
We are splitting the weekend to allow for the changes in weather.
We are in NEED of volunteers this year: horseshoe painting, help
with getting people on and off the haywagon, sales in the gift shop,
food table, tours, walking ponies and many other tasks too numerous

to mention. If you have any time and would like to come have a "play day"
with us, even for a few hours to volunteer, we would appreciate the time.
As our dairy herd has grown, we now have 14 baby goats and a new
Jersey cow, named Buttercup. Our peeps are still fluffy and lots of fun
for the family to visit, too. We are sheering our sheep on Sunday the 22nd.

Hundreds of police officers and other mourners attended today's funeral for Upper Saucon Patrolman David Petzold, who died Thursday. Some stood along the funeral procession route to pay tribute to the township's only officer to die on-duty.
A nine-year veteran and a police investigator, Petzold, 32, had returned to the force in April after taking a job with the FBI in Newark as a special agent in June, 2005. Upper Saucon Police Chief Robert Coyle has said that Petzold missed community police work. Coyle also has said that Petzold felt the long commute kept him away from his family.
He was trying to remove the carcass from the northbound lane of Route 309 just north of Passer Road about 6 a.m. Thursday when he was struck by a van.
Friends and colleagues said Petzold died as he lived -- serving the public.

Does Anyone Know the Time?
Coopersburg has a new clock...
The new town clock in front of Borough Hall was dedicated at a ceremony on
Saturday, July 22, 2006. The clock was officially given to the Borough as a
“key” was presented to the Mayor Mack.
The Coopersburg Historical Society and the Friends of Coopersburg School
purchased the clock with the intention of donating it to the Borough.
The purchase and installation were completed on schedule, and well
within budget, thanks to Mr. Fred Derby of Coopersburg
Construction Corporation who very generously donated the labor
and materials for construction of the concrete base and installation of the clock.
